A question posed to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on Northwest Flight 253

I must admit that when I saw the Yahoo! news article with a photo of Mr. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab from the Northwest Flight 253 on December 25, 2009, I did find the photographers’ angle strikingly similar to the main character (Teco Jackson) from Kevin M. Weeks’ book cover titled The Street Life Series: Is It Suicide or Murder?  As you may recall, Kevin M. Weeks’ begs to answer the question in the novel: If a person lives the street life and dies, is that person committing suicide or committing murder as a result of his/her act?

In 2006, Weeks began to raise philosophical questions centered on the consequences of  heading down the wrong path in life.  Kevin M. Weeks’  New York Book Festival award winning novel  titled Is It Suicide or Murder? provides us all with a medium of reading and discussing current issues at hand.  Book Reviewers have shared that Mr. Weeks is the first African-American author to approach writing crime fiction in this manner by taking the main character from street thug to law-abiding citizen all in the same book series.

Was Northwest Flight 253 a daunting prophecy of Kevin M. Weeks when Weeks designed the book cover for Is It Suicide or Murder?  in 2006?   Was this a window into the future or simply foresight of a pervasive problem?  Is Kevin M. Weeks the 21st Century Nostradamus?  Pick up your copy of the book series today, and you decide.
